The moon turns harvest orange and the leaves fall in luxurious colors; the season of fall is arriving. The temperature is dropping at an astonishing rate--this is the last moon to enjoy basking in the warmth of the sun. Fresh, new scents of spices and woody forest will fill the island. Coats will begin to grow in excess in preparation for the chill of winter. The scenery itself will be a feast for the eyes...take in the bright and luminous colors of the season: orange, red, and other earthy tones. The wind will blow cool and easy, making for a pleasurable environment; rivers and streams will gurgle with excitement as they float colorful leaves across the island... Forests will be especially beautiful and comfortable this season. Be on the look for woodfluff, before they disappear into their dens to sleep for winter.

In the beginning they made themselves flesh and came to Inara. They lived their lives and left their descendants, left laws for their followers to abide by. Yet once their mortal bodies died, so did the truth in the land. Brother turned against brother, sister against sister. The creators were displeased and set down a new law, and separated those fighting. Their anger was so great that they set down a curse upon those who knew the truth and upon their descendants, this curse did not skip their own. The lands have been covered in battles and chaos, families have split, and some simply gave up their faith. Those that know the truth know that only when there is peace can the truth be revealed, and only then will they come down once more and bring the world together. Will the flame of the battle ever die out? Or will Inara remain forever torn?

Before reading: Please note that we have an entire must-reads board dedicated to supplying you with as much detailed information as possible. Be sure you have thoroughly read all of the threads within it before consulting this FAQ or creating a troubleshoot/support topic.
Why are there are multiple Administrators on this site? Who's who? Please explain. There are a total of four Administrators on "Equus: Kingdom of the Wild". They are arabi, Ty, myself, and graciegirl. We've all contributed in one way or another to the mass of content, plot, and design that is incorporated into this RPG. I won't divulge on all the details of who does what. We all pretty much have the same rank and powers, but if there is one main-main Admin, that would be arabi, because she initially created the forum and founded it. Some of the Admins like to be enigmatic and don't actually roleplay within the game much--uh...ignore them? lol
Are you hiring? No. Four Administrators is plenty enough to run and maintain an RPG, so we've never needed moderators, etc... The only other type of "staff" we have would be the Default Roleplayers--but even those accounts are ran by us.
Can I post with the same character in multiple threads/timelines? Yes. I do it all the time, and there are no logical reasons why you shouldn't be able to if you can keep up with the threads.
If I PM an Administrator like the must-reads say and request a moonmark, am I going to get one? What decides this? The Administrators decide this based on whether or not you need one for your character's story/plot, and if they believe that you'll use the privelage well. Also, if you are a full or senior member, you will have a higher chance of getting one.
How do I use an avatar on the tag board/cbox? There are two key aspects to this: First, you must use tinypic to upload your image; second, your image must be 45x45 pixels exactly--otherwise it will automatically be resized to those dimensions. Use the direct-for-layout URL tinypic provides you with, and place it in the "e-mail/url" field of the cbox. It should work like a charm.
How do I insert a youtube video in my post? You'll notice we've disabled the "tube" button among the list of tags--but that doesn't mean the feature still doesn't work. Simply use [*youtube]youtube URL here[/youtube] or [*yt]youtube URL here[/yt] (without the asterisks, of course), and your video will appear. Videos look best centered, so you might want to keep that in mind. Please note that youtube videos are not allowed anywhere on the forum except the OOC board!
How do I change which forum skin I view? Go to your profile, hit "Modify Profile", and underneath "Account Preferences" select which skin you want to view the forum in.
How do I get a song I want to listen to on the miniPod? Click on the banner above the miniPod that reads "CLICK TO REQUEST", or just click here.
If neither the must-reads nor this FAQ have helped to answer your questions, please start your own support thread. Either the Administrators or members will try to assist ASAP.

Caramel Rivers. Not a name many people know, but the town is located right outside of Chicago, Illinois. Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.
We are also accepting staff applications for Moderators and Graphics Designers.
What's going on... ?
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?

The Animal Control office has always had good intentions. When they meet the wolf in sheeps clothing, they see him as a good man. He looks godly and he promises the ACO with enough money to take care of their animals, instead of having to resort to euthenasia. He adopts pups who have a hard time being adopted out, and promises his newly 'beloved' pets with milk and honey; steaks and lamb. He offers them a giant yard to roam in, day and night. There is no truth in it...Broken promises.
Monsters inhabit Gala. Nothing like werewolves or vampires, things much worse. Man-made demons that roam the earth, lonely and morphed into unlikeable beasts. As darkness falls, they come out.
You begin as a normal canine. Living free in the world to roam the Urban and rural areas of Gala. Eating what and when you want, doing what you want and when! Until the city workers get a hold of you. Imprisonment is your punishment for being an abandoned stray. You are locked in cells with a thin blanket on a hard concrete slab, you are only fed once a day, and you are only granted sunlight twice a day. Beware of the wolf in sheeps clothing, a false prophet who promises milk and honey. He will take you home, giving you warm affection and empty promises. And when you reach your new home, you realize soon, the jail you had before was a godsend. For now, you live in a cold cell with no blankets and horrible, stale dog food. The only light you are given is the swinging ceiling lamps in the middle of the hallway. Your neighbors are horrid beasts with glowing green fur and toxic druel pooling beneath this jaws. Each day you are greeted by men and women dressed in white, not holding a warm bowl of milk or a steak, but a syringe...
Gala would never know the Monsters come from Dixmont labs in the center of the Mester Woods.

A magical island, between Nowhere and Anywhen. Huge mountains tower above it, dividing the chilly Northlands from the balmy Southlands. Fables of diamond cliffs and magical driftwood abound here.
Wolves have claimed these lands. Sentient wolves. Wolves with speech and ideas, wolves that can decide and contemplate. These canines live in Anywhen, in the time where seasons come and go, but months and years mean nothing.
